With the school year fast approaching, it is important to know that our children are going back to school on Monday, August 28, 2017.  Tips to keep children safe this school year include:  Be careful on the roads; take caution of walkers around schools and bus stops; always stop for school buses; and plan ahead.


Police Officer Job Opening

The Wyoming Police Department is currently accepting applications for Police Officer. The following are the requirements for the position: 21 years of age upon the completion of the academy, U.S. Citizen, High School Diploma or equivalent, and possession of a valid driver’s license. The Wyoming Police Department offers a competitive starting salary, medical insurance, paid vacation, retirement through the State Municipal Plan and a take home vehicle. Certified applicants will be given a conditional hire until they meet all the requirements set by the Council on Police Training and a modified field training program. Non-certified applicants who meet the requirements will need to pass the following to be considered for the position: written test, physical agility test, CVSA (voice stress analyzer) examination, background investigation, psychological examination, medical examination, and drug screening. US13, South Dover/Camden/Wyoming Planning Study

The DelDOT project team has been tasked with preparing a Planning and Environmental Linkage Study (PEL) for the South Dover/Camden/Wyoming area – Century Engineering is working with DelDOT on this task.  The study area will include US13 between Woodside and Puncheon Run and the Towns of Camden and Wyoming. The results of this study will help guide Century Engineering on the US13 Widening project(s) and the Camden Wyoming Bypass project(s). In addition, DelDOT has recently published the website for the US13, South Dover/Camden/Wyoming Planning Study.  As part of this planning study, DelDOT is looking for input from the public.  On the project website, there is a link to the public survey (link below).  http://deldot.gov/information/projects/SouthDoverCamdenWyoming_Planning_Study/projectinfo.shtml In addition to the public survey, DelDOT will be holding a public workshop for this study on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at Caesar Rodney High School Cafeteria from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

2017 Property Assessments

The 2017 Kent County Property Assessments are available.  There is a copy posted in Town Hall, the Police Department, Hall’s Family Restaurant and the Camden Wyoming Post Office in addition to this website.  If there are any questions about your assessment, the Town Council will be holding a hearing on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.   2017-assessment-list

Monday, May 1, 2017 there was a ceremony of “Swearing in of Candidates” for three (3) members of the Wyoming Town Council.  Mayor Frankie Dale Rife, Councilperson Doug Denison, and Councilperson David Reed.
