SOLICITATION OF CANDIDATES FOR
WYOMING TOWN COUNCIL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION to be held
Saturday, February 28, 2026
Positions Open:
- One (1) Mayor seat with a term of three (3) years (March 2026 to March 2029)
- Two (2) Council seats with a term of office of two (2) years (March 2026 to March 2028)
Eligibility Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older by the date of the election
- Citizen of the State of Delaware
- A qualified elector
- Resident of the Town of Wyoming for at least one (1) year prior to the election
- Good results of a criminal background check (no person having been convicted of a felony, of any crime involving moral turpitude, of any crime of dishonesty, or of any crime involving fraud, bribery, or embezzlement, will be qualified to run)
Procedure for filing:
Submit the following:

- Completed and signed Certificate of Intention
- Completed and signed Affidavit
- Certificate of Intention for an office paying less than $1,000 per year or if you intend to receive and spend less than $2,000 in your campaign.
- Results of a criminal background check by the Del State Bureau of Investigation (739-2528)

Maintenance/Groundskeeper
General Maintenance/Grounds Keeper
Job Summary
- This position provides grounds-keeping services and routine general maintenance work for all town property.
Key Responsibilities
- Lawn care: Mowing, edging and trimming.
- Plant care: Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and watering flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Streets: Street sweeping and clearing of storm drains.
- Park: Emptying trash cans daily, cleaning and maintenance of park restrooms, inspection of playground equipment, cleaning of playground area and general park space.
- Dog Park and Multipurpose Court: Maintain cleanliness daily, emptying trash cans and inspection for damage.
- Seasonal tasks: Leaf removal in the fall and snow/ice removal in the winter.
- Equipment maintenance: Operating and maintaining mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools.
- Minor repairs: Assisting with upkeep of fences, walkways, and other outdoor structures.
- Event support: Assisting with site preparation and cleanup for outdoor events.
- General maintenance: Performing light custodial tasks, such as site cleanup and general tidiness.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Physical ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Self-motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous care of grounds and equipment.
- Manual dexterity: Skill in handling tools and performing repairs.
- Communication: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with basic maintenance materials and procedures, as well as safe pesticide/herbicide application.
Work Environment
- Location: Town of Wyoming, Delaware
- Type: Part-time to Full-time (expected in March 2026).
- Physical demands: The job involves working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Pay based on experience.
- Benefits: Part-time position offers no benefits. Full-time will include benefits such as health insurance, Pension, generous paid time off.
