Mayor Bilbrough Announcement
I wanted to take the time to let all my supporters know that at the end of tonight’s (7/10) Town Council meeting I notified residents that I will be resigning from my position as Mayor effective July 15th. My family and I have made the difficult decision to move out of town.
During my tenure I have had the opportunity to work alongside some great council members. I feel like we have accomplished a lot of good for our community since the time I became Mayor. Under my leadership we were able to finish the town hall renovation, build new bathrooms at the Wyoming Park that allow for year round use, renovated the Wyoming Park to provide an all-inclusive experience for children of all abilities, started an annual Christmas parade in collaboration with the town of Camden, an annual town block party to give town residents the ability to come together as a community, the hiring of a town manager and a new chief of police, fully staffed our police department (a task that hasn’t been accomplished in years), the building of a dog park, the building of a new multi-use court for residents to enjoy (that will be completed sometime in the near future) and so much more.
None of these projects would have been possible without the hard work of the town staff. They have been great to work alongside with. I would give them an idea and they would do the leg work to see that it became a reality. One thing I have learned from this adventure over the years is you’re not going to make everyone happy and you better have thick skin.
This was not an easy decision, but a decision that I felt was best for my family. We have called Wyoming home for the last 12 years and will always consider Wyoming home. Thank you to the town and the community for supporting me while being Mayor for the past 3.5 years!
Mayor Bilbrough
