SOLICITATION OF CANDIDATES FOR

WYOMING TOWN COUNCIL

 

MUNICIPAL ELECTION to be held

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2021

 

Positions Open:

  • Two (2) Council seats with a term of office of two (2) years (May 2021 to May 2023)

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. 21 years of age or older by the date of the election
  2. Citizen of the State of Delaware
  3. A qualified elector
  4. Resident of the Town of Wyoming for at least one (1) year prior to the election
  5. Good results of a criminal background check (no person having been convicted of a felony, of any crime involving moral turpitude, of any crime of dishonesty, or of any crime involving fraud, bribery, or embezzlement, will be qualified to run)

 

Procedure for filing:

Submit the following:

(Available at Wyoming Town Hall)

  1. Completed and signed Certificate of Intention
  2. Completed and signed Affidavit
  3. Certificate of Intention for an office paying less than $1,000 per year or if you intend to receive and spend less than $2,000 in your campaign.
  4. Results of a criminal background check by the Del State Bureau of Investigation (739-2528)

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The Town of Wyoming will be holding a Public Hearing on Monday, January 4, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. virtually in conjunction with the regular council meeting.  Please visit wyoming.delaware.gov for log in information 7 days prior to meeting.

 

This hearing is scheduled to hear, discuss, and answer questions pertaining to Ordinance #54-20- AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE TOWN OF WYOMING TO INCLUDE BONDING REQUIREMENTS AND STREET ACCEPTANCE STANDARDS AND TO REPEAL ALL OTHER INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES”. The issue will then be voted on by Council at the January Town Council Meeting.

 

This request was initially heard by the Planning & Zoning Committee on October 28, 2020. 

 

If you are unable to attend, please address all questions and concerns in writing to the Wyoming Town Hall, 120 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 no later than 4:30 p.m. January 4, 2020.

Who is excited about lighting up Camden and Wyoming? Voting will begin on Saturday December 5th and close on Sunday December 13th.
Grab your hot chocolate, the family and the Holiday Lights Map to enjoy an evening of quality family time. Get your map and addresses here now to plan your trip!

We can also print a copy of the addresses for you if needed. Just stop by and we’ll take care of it for you.
We put the contestants in order which would be the easiest drive without doing a lot of backtracking during your drive. Feel free to see the lights in any order you choose.
 
Once you have seen all the lights displays and have decided who you think is the best; visit the link below to vote for your favorite. The voting link will not be opened until Saturday. You will pick one home from Camden, one home from Wyoming and one overall winner which could be from either town.

Volunteers Needed

The Town of Wyoming is looking to fill some vacancies on the Planning & Zoning Committee and the Board of Adjustments.  Now is your chance to make a difference in your community! Interested parties should email (townofwyoming@comcast.net) or mail (120 W. Camden Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, DE 19934) a letter of interest to Wyoming Town Hall.

Planning & Zoning meet once a month to discuss and plan Wyoming’s future. They are currently working on the Comprehensive Plan and updating the Land Use and Development Code. 

Board of Adjustments meets on a needed basis.
